I accept a blog challenge!

One of my lovely students whose blog I follow issued the following challenge, with the injunction that I'm supposed to pass it along to 5 others.  That could be hard because the other blogs I read are kind of famous ones with hundreds of followers, so I don't think it would be appropriate.  Oh well.
The idea is to give your answers to the following prompts:

Outside my window..................kids in the apartment complex are yelling and playing tag in the back parking lot.

Around the house....................NPR is on in the kitchen, Toby is up in his room guffawing as he watches old "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" episodes, and Ruby is in her room.  She's supposed to be going to sleep, but I'm dubious.

I'm looking forward to.............scrapbooking.  I don't know where I will set up my massive scrapbooking station, but I cannot WAIT to get to work!  I am very behind...still putting together pics from 2009!

I'm currently reading...............lots of books on literacy, miscue analysis, and teaching reading (in preparation for my new job at MRA as a reading specialist)

I am wearing........................a very sporty outfit that Allen got me: black running shorts and a teal tank top, layered over with a white empire-waist t-shirt.  It's pretty hot in our apartment, so I need to dress light!

I am creating........................a blog post, of course.

From the kitchen.................the call of dirty dishes in the sink to be cleaned and clean dishes in the dishwasher needing to be put away.

I am thinking about.................how nice it is to have Allison and Jeff Carman nearby now, and how grateful I am that I get to teach at the same school as Laurel and Allison for the fifth year now: 2 at Arbor, and this will be the 3rd at MRA.

I'm worried about...............not writing in sentence fragments so as not to set a bad example for my younger readers and prove myself a hypocrite ;)

My wish of the week..............that Allen's coworkers would be nicer to him; they are often quite rude and it makes for a very unpleasant work environment.

If you read this and you have a blog, why not try your hand at the challenge?  It's pretty fun and easy!  Let me know if you do...

  1. Yay! I'm so glad that you accepted. Oh, and about the fragment problem...I'm guilty of that a lot of times when I write blog posts. But of course, that has nothing to do with your teaching! :)I wouldn't dare during school! :)

  2. Angel,
I gave up writing blogs forever (maybe?) after the siberianprince debacle of 2005 (OH THE HORROR), but just installed yours in my google reader. Love love love you. Did I say I love you? Cause I do.

  3. Dear S,
OMLOG (as Schwartz would text), that was a debacle. I'm honored to be followed by you.
And you really should see my child in person. She's even cuter in real life than in pictures, if I do say so myself.
    Loves to you, too!
